Topic Hero is an AI-powered debate app where users can join one-to-one debates, submit arguments, receive AI-assisted verdicts, and participate in rankings and community features.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect account information such as your name, username, email address, password credentials, profile photo, and app settings.

We collect user content such as debate arguments, reports, appeals, support messages, and other content you submit through Topic Hero.

We may collect usage and device information such as app version, device type, operating system, IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, crash logs, diagnostics, and interactions with app features.

If you use third-party sign-in, such as Google, we receive authentication information needed to create or access your account.

If paid features are offered, payment and subscription information is processed by Apple, Google, Stripe, or another payment provider. Topic Hero does not store full payment card details.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to create and manage accounts, provide debates and matchmaking, generate AI-assisted debate verdicts, maintain leaderboards, personalize app features, provide support, and send service-related communications.

We also use information to improve app performance, debug issues, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our Terms and Conditions, moderate content, comply with legal obligations, and protect users and the service.

4. AI Processing

When you participate in a debate, the arguments submitted by both participants may be sent to an AI service provider, including OpenAI, to help determine the debate result and generate an explanation.

We do not intentionally send your name, email address, or other account identifiers to the AI provider for verdict generation unless you include that information inside your debate argument.

5. Sharing Information

We may share information with service providers that help us operate Topic Hero, including cloud hosting providers, analytics and crash reporting tools, authentication providers, email providers, payment processors, moderation tools, and AI service providers.

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or a valid government request, or if necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, enforce our terms, or protect our rights.

We do not sell personal information to data brokers.

6. Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide Topic Hero, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, maintain security, and support legitimate business purposes.

If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal information within a reasonable period unless we need to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You may update account information in the app where available. You may request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your personal information by contacting us.

Depending on your location, including the UK, EEA, California, or other jurisdictions, you may have additional privacy rights. We will respond to valid requests as required by applicable law.
